2016-2017 School Year is About to Begin!

Dear Northern Heights Families,

I am extremely excited for the 2016-17 school year. I am a 1996 graduate of Columbia City High School and I am thrilled to work for such a great district. I have lived in this great community for my entire life other than my 4 years at Ball State University. Despite my 10 years of teaching for Central Noble Schools and 4 years as a principal for Manchester Community Schools, my heart has always been with Whitley County Consolidated Schools. My wife taught here, my brother continues to serve this corporation and community as an administrator, my mother retired from WCCS after 30 plus years of teaching, and my late father served as an administrator for 27 years and my oldest son will begin K this year at this school. WCCS runs in the family! As principal at Northern Heights Elementary School, I am committed to offering a 21st century education to our students in the areas of Math, Literacy, Science, and Social Studies. In addition, our students will receive instruction in art, music, PE, and technology by highly qualified teachers. I am excited about the 1:1 technology initiative the district is currently working toward with elementary implementation starting in the 2017-18 school year. Our teachers are working toward a blended learning environment that bridges a traditional classroom with online work this school year prior to devices arriving. Aside from the academic work, and more importantly, Northern Heights Elementary is a safe and secure environment with an emphasis on personal relationships. It is at the forefront of what we do. I urge all parents/guardians to contact me if I can be of any assistance. It would be my pleasure to assist you.

I am excited for another great year!

Respectfully

Letter From Your Principal:
Dear Northern Heights Families,

I am extremely excited for the 2015-16 school year in my inaugural year as the principal at Northern Heights Elementary School. I am a 1996 graduate of Columbia City High School and this is very much a homecoming for me. I have lived in this great community for my entire life other than my 4 years at Ball State University. Despite my 10 years of teaching for Central Noble Schools and 4 years as a principal for Manchester Community Schools, my heart has always been with Whitley County Consolidated Schools. My wife taught here, my brother continues to serve this corporation and community as an administrator, my mother retired from WCCS after 30 plus years of teaching, and my late father served as an administrator for 27 years. WCCS runs in the family! As principal at Northern heights, I am committed to offering a 21st century education to our students in the areas of Math, Literacy, Science, and Social Studies. In addition, our students will receive instruction in art, music, PE, and technology. We are excited about the 1:1 technology initiative the district is currently working toward with implementation starting in the 2016-17 school year. In closing, I firmly believe that the education of a child takes the collaboration of school and family in order to achieve optimum success. Do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any help. I am excited for a great year!

Respectfully
