The Northeast Indiana Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (NEINFAME) is now accepting applications for its two-year, paid training program that provides students with an associate's degree in Industrial Technology and a full-time job offer upon completion.
This innovative program, which begins immediately after high school graduation, allows current seniors to apply and interview with leading manufacturing companies in the region, including Steel Dynamics, Zimmer Biomet, Micropulse, Fort Wayne Metals, AMT, and Incipio Devices.
If accepted, students will work full-time at their partnering company during the summer after high school graduation. Then, starting in the fall, they will attend classes at Ivy Tech Community College two days per week and work three days per week at their company.
Students interested in engineering, manufacturing, design, mechanics, welding, computer science or those who enjoy problem solving and working with your hands should apply for this opportunity.
The compensation from the participating companies covers the cost of tuition, allowing students to graduate debt-free with an associate's degree. Upon completion of the two-year program, students are eligible for full-time employment with their partnering company.
NEINFAME is a launchpad designed to propel students into a successful future in advanced manufacturing. Students develop essential skills, collaborate with industry leaders, earn while they learn, gain a valuable degree and have the tools to advance rapidly in their careers.
"This program is invaluable for high school seniors looking to start their careers in advanced manufacturing. By combining hands-on work experience, college-level instruction, and guaranteed employment, NEINFAME provides a clear path to a stable, well-paying career,” said Lori Heuer, WCCS Talent Development Director.
Applications are now open for current high school seniors. Students are encouraged to apply by November 1. Interested students and parents are encouraged to visit https://neinfame.com/ to learn more and begin the application.
