Ten 5th-8th grade top spellers participated in the 2025 WCCS Spelling Bee. The champion and runner-up from all four elementary school and middle school Spelling Bees competed in 15 rounds on Wednesday, January 29, at Indian Springs Middle School.
Winning the WCCS Spelling Bee was Brayden Springer, an 8th-grade student at Indian Springs. He correctly spelled the word "rivulets" to win. The runner-up was Maddie Egolf, a 7th-grade student at Indian Springs. Winslow Fry, a 5th grader at Coesse Elementary, came in third place.
Other spellers, in no particular order, included: Kambree Arthur from Coesse, Broderick Briggs and Lainey Geiger from Little Turtle Elementary, Aria Daniel and Adalie Dietz from Mary Raber Elementary, Oliver Franklin and Isaiah Sadler from Northern Heights Elementary.
