
During related arts classes today, students walked to CCHS to see the different bands and choirs perform.





Today was the last trip to the Whitley County Historical Museum for the 8th grade social studies classes. It was P4's turn. Thank you so much to the museum staff and all of the parents who chaperoned, and Deanna our bus driver for making our visits this week possible.

The staff at ISMS has been shown lots of love and appreciation this week during Teacher Appreciation Week!
Student Council hung banners of appreciation in each wing, they brought in food trucks on Tuesday and delivered "room service" to staff on Friday morning. The school board sent in cookies.
They were treated to Tom's Coffee Truck on Wednesday, compliments of Ruoff Mortgage. Thursday we received fun sunglasses, Brewha Coffee and Rise 'n Roll donuts compliments of Bailey & Wood Home Lenders and Orizon Real Estate- Darlene Nelson.

The Whitley County Historical Museum welcomed the P6 8th grade social studies classes.


Tonight was the ISMS spring band concert.


The band instrument fittings for this Wednesday have been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a date in the fall.

Today was the 8th grade P7 social studies classes turn to visit the Whitley County Historical Museum.

ISMS Student Council celebrated Lunch Hero today by treating our Food Service staff to donuts!


Happy School Lunch Hero Day!!!! We are posting pictures of our final two schools. Pictured first is our ladies at Northern Heights Elementary School. And finally- our Columbia City High School staff. These ladies work hard every day to feed our kids healthy and delicious meals! A big thank you to all our hero's serving our kids at the schools throughout the year!

Today the 6th graders had Red, White, and Blue Day to celebrate today's honor flight and their guest speaker author Kayleen Reusser. She shared stories from her interviews with over 230 veterans.



Sixth graders will participate in a red, white, and blue day on April 26th when author, Kayleen Reusser, comes to speak to the sixth grade about the veterans she has interviewed for the many books she’s written. Sixth graders are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue on this day!


Here are the second week of ILEARN testing dress-up days.


This morning the finalists in the Charitable Champions project presented their grant requests to the HANDS Foundation board. As a part of the project students learn about philanthropy and local nonprofit groups. Students select a local nonprofit and write a grant on its behalf which focuses on an identified need. The nonprofits represented by the finalist presentations this year are Easterseals Passages, Camp Whitley, Forklift, and Giving Gardens. This program is a partnership between ISMS, HANDS, and the Whitley County Community Foundation. Grant awards will be announced in late May.
